Seismic Refraction Survey

Scope of work

The survey supported early-stage geotechnical planning for a dual-carriageway scheme crossing wadi systems and low-relief basement highs. Spread locations were coordinated with the alignment design team and land access windows.

Scope of work included:

Spread design and offset planning for 12–24 geophone arrays with hammer and weight-drop sources.

Acquisition with continuous geometry checks and field review of first-break picks.

Tomographic and layer-cake inversion to derive depth-to-bedrock and interval velocities.

Rippability classification using published velocity–rippability correlations.

Interpretation report with longitudinal rockhead profile and recommended borehole infill locations.
