Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES)
Schlumberger VES programme to resolve overburden thickness and bedrock depth along a utility corridor west of Dammam.

Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES)
Scope of work
The programme supported route refinement for a buried utility corridor crossing variable sabkha, wadi fill, and limestone outcrop. Soundings were positioned at nominal 400 m intervals with infill at geomorphological transitions.
Scope of work included:
Reconnaissance and sounding layout adjusted for access, fencing, and active construction interfaces.
Schlumberger VES acquisition with AB/2 spreads up to 200 m where ground conditions allowed.
One-dimensional inversion and layered earth modelling for each sounding location.
Correlation of interpreted sections with available borehole control and geological mapping.
Geophysical memorandum with recommended trench depth ranges and grounding resistivity notes.
